Cell Phone Activation Instructions from MistyElectronics

Activating your new phone is simple! Our phones have been cleared for activation with any existing, or new cell phone plan; either as a replacement or additional phone. MistyElectronics guarantees activation as part of the warranty.
If your carrier uses a sim card, such as ATT, or T-Mobile, all you need to do is put in your sim card and you are good to go. If you are upgrading your phone to a blackberry plan, or smartphone plan, you may need to check with your carrier to see if any changes are needed on your account to get the benefits of a smartphone.
If your carrier does not use a sim card, you will need to contact your service provider and so they can switch your account to your new phone. You will need to supply them with the esn number, as that is what identifies your phone to the network.
-
The esn number is located on the back of the phone, usually where the battery goes, and is easy to find and clearly marked.
Once you have the ESN number, first check to see if your carrier has an online site that allows you to activate it online, this usually allows you to avoid any activation fees and can be done on your own. If not then you will have to call your carrier and they do it over the phone for you.
-
I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TAKE YOUR PHONE INTO A RETAIL STORE FOR ACTIVATION. In most cases stores are paid a commission based on the phones they sell, and in too many cases the stores will try to convince the buyer the phone can't be activated, and try to sell you a new phone of their own.
-
If you can't activate it online, call the number that corresponds with your cellular carrier below. A representative will then walk you through the activation process, which generally takes less than five minutes.
- Cellular South customers, call: 1-877-276-8841
Verizon
The easiest way to activate your Verizon phone is to dial *228 from the phone when you receive it, then choose option 3. This should let you activate your phone easily but sometimes you still have to call Verizon directly.
The second easiest way is if you already have an account set up at www.verizonwireless.com, which I strongly recommend. To then change your phone number to your replacement phone, visit www.verizonwireless.com and
1) Log into your account.
2) You will see the picture of the phone you currently have, click on the GO icon next to that.
3) Click on ACTIVATE PHONE and follow the prompts.
